What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small data files that we store in your browser when you visit our website. They help the website function properly, allow us to understand how it's used, and enable us to improve it. Alongside cookies, we also use other similar technologies (e.g. browser local storage or identifiers for server-side measurement) — on this page we collectively refer to all of these as "cookies."

How we approach cookies

On your first visit to the website, we ask you to consent to each category of cookies separately. Until you give consent, we only use necessary cookies — the ones the site cannot work without.

We use Google Consent Mode v2. This means that before consent is granted, no identifiers or personal data are sent to Google (or other measurement systems). Google uses anonymous, aggregated signals to model overall visitor behaviour on the site, with no link to any individual.

Some of our measurement happens server-side. Instead of data flowing directly from your browser to advertising and analytics systems, it first passes through our server. There, we can control, clean, and limit what gets passed on. Server-side measurement does not get around the consent you give in the cookie banner, though — exactly the same rules apply to it as to measurement in the browser.

Cookie categories

Necessary cookies

Without these, the website would not function. They remember, for example, your cookie settings, login status, or form security. Under the GDPR and the Czech Electronic Communications Act, consent is not required for these cookies.

Analytics cookies

These help us understand how visitors use the website — which pages are popular, where people get lost, whether navigation works. Without this measurement, we would not be able to meaningfully improve the website. We process this data primarily in Google Analytics 4 and Google BigQuery.

Marketing cookies

These allow us to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and display relevant content on partner platforms (Google Ads, LinkedIn, Meta). Without them, we cannot reliably evaluate whether our advertising is actually working.

Preference cookies

These remember your choices (e.g. language or region) so the site shows up the way you like it next time.

How to change or withdraw consent

You can change your decision at any time:

• On our website — by clicking the "Cookies" link in the footer.
• In your browser — all modern browsers allow you to delete or block cookies:

If you decline analytics and marketing cookies, the website will still be fully functional. However, you will likely see less relevant content, and we will gain less information about what works on the website.

Transfer of data outside the EU

Some providers (particularly Google) may also process data in countries outside the EU. In such cases, the transfer takes place on the basis of:

• standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, or
• the Data Privacy Framework (DPF), which Google is certified under.
